Nouryon

Hosuton, Texas

Infinity MEP worked with CBRE, Nouryon, and D2 Groups on the interior renovation for Nouryon’s new offices at Park Ten Plaza in Houston, Texas. With an out of town architect and other consultants, the project required all parties to communicate effectively and often to ensure the success of the renovations.

Our team was engaged to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing design, lighting commissioning, and construction administration. The full-floor renovation scope consisted of the removal and redesign of some interior walls, coordinating new system designs with existing equipment, a new server room with dry pipe sprinkler system, new break room, coffee bar, private room and single restroom, new lavatories and faucets in the restrooms, and lighting.

Our team completed a survey of the conditions of the existing spaces to accurately document and assess any design considerations. The mechanical design systems were inclusive of ductwork and air devices connected to existing systems. Supplemental units for conference and server rooms were incorporated as needed. The electrical design systems included normal power, circuiting, panel relocation, and powering/control of the lighting systems. Plumbing designs included hot and cold water piping, sanitary, and vent. Our engineers were challenged with an expedited review schedule of product and equipment submittals but were able to keep things moving smoothly. In addition, our quality control process ensured that the MEP designs did not receive city comments that delayed the issuance of the permits keeping to the planned project schedule.

Our CA process involved prompt responses to RFIs and submittal review, as is our standard. The team had to deviate from our normal process of conducting site visits and corresponding reports as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic but worked with the relevant parties to conduct weekly zoom calls to oversee CA while maintaining health and safety priorities. Thorough coordination with all parties contributed to the success of achieving fully integrated designs for the project.
