Whispering Pines Resort
Trinity, TX
The team was able to provide mechanical engineering design services for the expansion of the Whispering Pines Golf Resort. Whispering Pines has served as a top regional destination for golfers for years. The approximately 88-mile, 400-acre property provides a serene and abundant landscape for visitors to enjoy. The addition of twenty four guestrooms, tavern building, cart barn and cottages will make the property more versatile and attractive to shortterm vacationers. The project was multi-phased in coordination with the general contractor. The guestroom tower and the cart barn were designed utilizing variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system and dedicated outdoor air roof top unit. The cart barn was designed with swing simulators, boardroom, and bar cooled and heated with Direct expansion split systems. The cart storage area was provided with heat for the winter months. The two-story tavern will attach to the guestroom tower and provide a full kitchen, multiple event spaces, boardrooms, laundry facility and multiple swing simulator bays. The variable air volume (VAV) system is served by two roof mounted packaged units and will give the occupants multiple points of control for the space. Linear slot diffusers were included in the design to minimize the architectural impact of the HVAC design.
