We provided the design engineering for the replacement and renovation of two (2) dual duct air handling units and the existing VAV system and associated low pressure ductwork through the diffusers on the 8th floor of the UCT building on the University of Texas Health Science Center campus located in Houston, Texas.
We provided multiple pricing options/ construction phasing to the owner for the renovation of the entire floor HVAC system. One significant feature of the project was coordinating the removal of the existing AHUs as well as the constructibility of providing two new AHUs to serve the floor. The new chilled water AHUs were design to operate of the existing campus chilled water service with the new dual duct VAV boxes utilizing the existing hot water service for the reheat.
Working cohesively alongside the end users and collaborating in the design phasing was a critical step in making this a successful project.
