Bechtel Liquefaction

Bechtel Liquefaction

Corpus Christi, TX

A full MEP design was provided for eleven permanent buildings including the site’s three-story control building, laboratory, multiple warehouses, a maintenance building, auxiliary materials storage building, security building, and a water treatment control building. In total, the buildings add up to 152,000 square feet.

The MEP design included the design of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, fire protection systems, electrical systems, and coordination with other consultants. All drawing designs were completed in Revit to further assist the coordination with other consultants. MEP calculations, preparation of construction drawings, assistance during bidding and construction services were also performed for the new facility. The design-build team approach was instrumental in the success of the project. The team implemented the Bechtel specifications and standards which was important to reflect the legacy and success of both Bechtel and Cheniere.

The Corpus Christi, Texas LNG plant’s permanent building total construction cost was $60 million. This project was in collaboration with Energy Architects as a design-build partnership with the JE Dunn Construction Company.
